General Duties

  • Attend two virtual board meetings, one 1-day in-person board meeting, and one 2-day in-person strategy retreat annually.
  • Serve on at least one of the three standing committees (Finance & Audit, Governance, Program Development)
  • Atend 4-8 virtual committee meetings annually (Finance & Audit meets twice per quarter).
  • Give an unrestricted annual personal gift in line with your personal means.
  • Review quarterly financial statements.

Board Terms

Board members can serve three 3-year terms (total of 9 years).

Time Commitment & Meeting Schedule

The time commitment is dependent upon which committee a board member serves (the Financial & Audit Committee meets twice per quarter).  The approximate time commitment expected of board members is broken down by quarter below:

Quarter 1 = 7.75 - 9.25 hours

One Committee Meeting 90 minutes
Committee Meeting Prep 30 minutes
One 1-day in-person Board Meeting (late March) 5 hours + RT travel
Board Meeting Prep 45 minutes
Extra Finance & Audit Committee Meeting 60 minutes
Extra Finance & Audit Committee Meeting Prep 30 minutes

Quarter 2 = 5.75 - 7.25 hours

One Committee Meeting 90 minutes
Committee Meeting Prep 30 minutes
One Virtual Board Meeting (late June) 3 hours
Board Meeting Prep 45 minutes
Extra Finance & Audit Committee Meeting 60 minutes
Extra Finance & Audit Committee Meeting Prep 30 minutes


Quarter 3 = 18.75 - 20.25 hours

One Committee Meeting 90 minutes
Committee Meeting Prep 30 minutes

One 2-day in-person Strategy Retreat & Meeting              (late September)

 16 hours + RT travel & social time
