Making a difference for people and communities across America
To stimulate economic investment in low-income communities nationwide, Dakotas America, a Community Development Entity (CDE), has been awarded New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocations by the U.S. Department of Treasury CDFI Fund.
Dedicated to community impacts that enhance the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities – Dakotas America has been allocated the authority to place New Markets Tax Credit allocations for qualified investments in qualifying projects.
A priority for Dakotas America is to select projects that serve education, health care and vital community services, benefitting low income persons in low income communities. The New Markets Tax Credit program enables Dakotas America to tackle some of the toughest projects in the nation, expanding economic opportunity and improving the quality of life in areas that need it most.
Dakotas America’s roots run deep in rural community development, as evidenced by its history of formation by Dakota Resources (a non-profit, certified CDFI) and Rural Development Finance Corporation, both non-profit community development organizations that consistently and innovatively work to provide opportunities for their communities.
